Studying temperature and salinity changes over time in three areas of Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW) formation around the continent of Antarctica
Hello! My name is Samantha Schlegel and I am an undergraduate senior studying Marine Science and Biology at the University of Tampa. I am fascinated with how our oceans are changing in the face of climate change and believe this topic is imperative to study. My future goals include attending graduate school to study how ecosystems are changing in the Anthropocene. Given my passion, I am studying temperature and salinity changes over time in three areas of Antarctic Bottom Water (AABW) formation around the continent of Antarctica. Specifically, I will be analyzing the surface waters of the Ross Sea, the Weddell Sea, and Prydz Bay.
I am very grateful for the help that Dr. Dobrinski will provide in the statistics and analysis portion and for the guidance that Dr. Deborah Goodwin will provide in understanding the oceanography of this project. Pursuing grad School.
