Focused on the epigenetic patterns associated with obesity

My name is Jordan Gran. My major was Biology with a Pre-Veterinary focus, and I am minoring in Marine Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Leadership.

My research focused on the epigenetic patterns associated with obesity. Zebrafish were used as a model organism by inducing obesity through a high fat diet then collecting blood and liver samples. The DNA from these samples were sequenced to analyze epigenetic patterns in gene transcription. Differences in patterns will be compared to their corresponding genes. These genes will then be analyzed for disease association.
